Welcome to Mrs. Koppelmann's 8th American History rhondak@cuba.k12.mo.us

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to fulfill it" - George Santayana

Therefore, it is imperative to understand the trials and struggles that have shaped society as we know it today. 8th Grade American History students will form a solid knowledge of our nation's past, the sacrifices our forefather's endured, and how the American spirit has developed into a melting pot of productive citizens that work toward the continued success of our country.

Missing Days and Late Work:             Students may check this website for activities completed and assignments they may have missed due to illness or unexpected absences.  All daily activities will be posted under Daily Calendar. Simply click on the specific day of the calendar for classroom activities, assignments, and daily vocabulary.  In addition, worksheets, teacher notes, etc, will be posted under the calendar when available. (Be sure to match the date with the day you missed class). All assignments are to be turned into the appropriate hour's box for your class. Please note that there will be a weekly vocabulary quiz each Friday (schedule permitting).   In addition, any notes taken throughout the week will be checked on Friday. Students are responsible for copying notes from this website or a classmate when they miss a day.  Work due to days missed falls under the guidelines of the student handbook. Assignments must be completed on time to understand and master curriculum material. For this reason, students who do not have their assignment will be assigned Loss of Privilege (LOP).  At the end of this "extended time" the work must be submitted or the student will receive a 0 for that assignment. If there are extenuating circumstances - please contact me immediately; otherwise the policy will stand as written.
